JOHN WAITE SIGNS TO GOLD CIRCLE RECORDS

Santa Monica, CA – May 21, 2001

Gold Circle Entertainment President/CEO Rob Dillman is pleased to announce that singer/songwriter and pop icon John Waite has signed with Gold Circle Records. His debut album for the label, Figure In A Landscape, will be in stores on August 21.

Says Dillman, “I’m thrilled to have an artist of John’s caliber on the label. He has a voice that is instantly familiar and truly timeless. John is without a doubt, a world-class talent.”

Waite’s immediately recognizable voice, unique style and gifted songwriting have made him a constant presence on the pop music landscape. His first huge hit came while he was a teenager as the lead singer in the legendary band, The Baby’s (Isn’t It Time). After numerous chart-topping successes and five albums with that group, Waite wanted a change. That led to his enormous success as a solo singer/songwriter with songs including the smash hits Missing You, Change and Tears. Waite was constantly searching for creative challenges and that end he decided to take the opportunity to reunite with former members of The Babys and form the multi-platinum, super group, Bad English (When I See You Smile, Price of Love, Forget Me Not). Recently Waite became restless again, which has brought him—solo -- to Gold Circle Records.

Prior to the August 21 release of Figure In A Landscape, Waite will be performing on a summer-long tour of amphitheatres with Journey.

Good News on this year's Shade Tree event! 

We now have a firm date for Shade Tree 2000, John Waite's performance at The House of Blues (www.hob.com) in Las Vegas to benefit the Shade Tree Shelter for homeless women (www.citycare.com/shadetree). The event is the evening of Tuesday, December 5. Other acts are being added to the benefit for the Shade Tree Women's Shelter. John is the main act and host of the show. General admission tickets are $35 and can be purchased by contacting the House of Blues ticket office at 1-877-632-7601 also $350 host tickets are available, which include preferred seating for six and admission to the after-show party with John.
