Worldwide Connection

EB Stone

Since day one of johnwaite.com, I am constantly amazed at the amount of correspondence that have come through the doorways. Whether it be e mail, postal mail, or phone calls to the main offices, it has been simply unbelievable - so many people, each with their own perspective on what John and his music means to them. Very often, people write to us stating that "John's music makes up the pallet that paints on the canvas of their lives". How interesting a metaphor of a man and his music. It is apparently clear that this artist touches peoples lives.

From my own perspective, johnwaite.com has always been more than a website. Being a fan of John's works since the days of The Baby's, I, (like so many others) often reflect on memories of past days when listening to his music. My fondest of these would be when walking along the streets within the village of New York City. The early morning hours of my way to and from a recording studio and the steam rising out of the pot-hole filled streets and the walkman playing Temple Bar. I would always have "Downtown" programmed into the player and set to repeat play over and over again. Even though I have great memories of "Broken Heart" and "Missing You", "Downtown" pretty much always makes me turn and think ... "Now this guy can write a song!" I don't know if there is a person who listens to music who would disagree with me on that one. Especially when it comes to Downtown ... at least those folks from New York (smile).

During the last year (since version 1.0), I have met some awe-inspiring people from around the world through johnwaite.com. I often think, "God, where are they all coming from?" It is a testament to the power that the internet holds now and into the future. Each person with a common message to us - "How can I get involved? How can I put what I have on the table to help johnwaite.com out with getting the word across about John and what a great artist he is!"

Born: The John Waite WorldWide Connection. A unique gathering of people and shared resources to bring you this website and information "as close to you as you computer" (as John himself would say (smile)). From New York, California, Chicago, Sweden, Holland, Germany, Japan, Australia, Europe ... and so many more places around this planet! Talk about connecting the dots (laugh)!

The pinnacle of more than a years worth of work is coming of age. John will tour once again! Through the signing with TAO, something special is about to happen, so stick around the site ... its going to get real exciting, real fast!

I am truly honored and very proud to be involved with such great people. I cant say enough about these individuals and what they mean to this project. For without them, it would have never been possible ... and we are only just getting started. I want each person that reads this to know that johnwaite.com is not about one person, its about a large number of people and organizations. It would very short-sighted and small minded of me not to mention all that have supported johnwaite.com and The John Waite WorldWide Connection.

John Waite - For all the guidance and correspondence, but more importantly for the kindness to all the fans that come through the doors of The JWWC. You always "up the ante" and want to give as much as you can to each and everyone of the fans. Your music is a true expression of the man that you are. You define the term "artist" like no other, both on and off the record. I wish to extend my wishes for a very successful future in touring and recording. We are only getting started ... thanks for staying with us throughout it all. Since business has taken you from New York for the time being, I look forward to seeing you in Vegas! (smile).

Chris Arnstein - "Savior" might not be too strong of a word to use when saying thank you for everything. Your continued support, guidance and understanding has helped more than you will ever know. We are going to do a lot of really good things here. Thanks for the encouragement and helping cross all the "t's" and dotting the "i's".

Amy (Fishy) - There isn't enough room on this page (or on the net) to say thank you. Your tireless efforts and always making sure it was done the right way (even if it took another 4 hours to change that graphic - (smile)) is unbelievable. Your artistic talent is something more unique and special then you will ever know. The vision that you have truly comes from a place well beyond here. Working on this project is something that is way beyond work ... its something much more than that. You are a great friend ... one I will always treasure. Oh ... and thanks for all those "do-hickey's (those little lines on the left side of every page)" ... LOL

Tony (MrFishy) - Pack my things bud! I'm out for now (but I'll be back, and when you see me .. lock the door!). Your understanding throughout these last months is truly unreal. I know I wouldn't have put up with me for this long (laugh). I cant wait for the new Fishy CD!

JR - Thanks for putting up with my so-called "passion" for this project (laugh). Knowing how it would be technically created is never a question in your mind ... you are truly amazing when it comes to the keyboard and the screen. The top ten is super slick :). Don't worry, we have only just started ... I know, your frightened, as you should be! (laugh).

Brent - Still ... to this day, I haven't found my head, not even rolling in the hallways ... have you seen it my friend? If you do, FedEx it back to me. Hey Batman ... I know that Vegas doesn't have chicken, shrimp or ribs, so I guess we will have to settle for good conversation (laugh). Which is one thing we are NEVER short on. You are a great human and inspire me to do my best and keep moving in a positive fashion. Thanks for pulling me through the chin deep mud, now get over here and stand with all the rest of us. You are WAY to humble!

Pär - Meeting you was like finding MOS! (laugh) - the grail, my friend. In such a short time, a friendship born out of a listing of JW recordings ... the JWWC just keeps getting better! Thanks for being there at the start of the idea and all your input into what it should be! The leader of the crew from across the pond. Come to America soon my friend, so we can meet face to face ... and bring some rare collectibles to show us all.

Kristine - My what a small world it is. Our friendship is one that clicked immediately. When the development rooms were the darkest you made Kat and me laugh like we had not in many months. I didn't think anyone was as sick and twisted as myself ... Its comforting to know that in this life ... LOL. That Vegas town isn't nearly ready for us!

Denise - On Off On Off ... can you ever make up your mind? What's the latest? Going ... not going (laugh). My dear dear friend ... so much in so little time. Thank you so very much for all the conversations and helping me stay mentally well (yeah, like that's ever possible with EB! LOL). You are a true friend. When you and Kristine team up, people better be frightened ... LOL ... Oh, and yes the Yankees did beat the Indians ... thank you very much!

Cindy - From the start .... Waaaayyyy back! Thank you so very much. For all the research and the lyrics and just the endless support you give. Its never easy, but then again, if it were, what fun would that be? LOL. See, EB does dance at the Rod Stewart concert! ... next up ... dancing at one of John's in 99!

Adrian, Marion, David, Kevin and all at EWAC - Your "Life Story" publication is nothing short of awesome! Thank you for sharing it with us and letting us share it with everyone on and connected with the JWWC. Your writing and creation of it is something that can be placed in the annals of rock and roll and is a testament to John as an artist. The ideas and the feedback have been unbelievable ... as we say here in America ... "Kudos to you all" Which means, we raise our glass in celebration to your efforts. When is the cross language/translated version coming out (smile)?.

Vanga - My oh my ... what a long strange trip it has been. To think, a conversation about John Waite was where it all began for us back in the AOL days! We certainly have come a long way my friend. You are my best friend, and that is the biggest thank you I have for this and life itself! Words could never describe it! Vegas will be a blast, see you there my friend.

It is very rare in life that you meet someone, that is a reflection of yourself. The greatest result of a friendship such as this, is that this person forces you to be accountable and be responsible through self examination. Making sure you keep on the roads that can sometimes become winding. They will make sure that they are there, through thick and thin. They give you the strength to stand and deliver and remind you of why you started this whole thing in the first place. When you get so wrapped up in it (I call this "Intense EB" (laugh)), that sometimes it all can escape us to easily. That person is there on a daily basis to keep in check, your integrity and sometimes restore faith when the paths seem darkest. I am fortunate to have met someone who is all of these things and more. Above and beyond the call of duty, as my friend, (is a person most of you know as) Kathi. She is a person who reminds me all the time (even when I REALLY don't feel like hearing it ) that this is all great work and it has great people associated with what you see here, within this website.

Even though there were times within the vast creation of this project that I certainly wasn't the most pleasant person to deal with (What? EB, not lovable? ... say it ain't so! (laugh)), she would battle to the end with me and show me that silver lining in those grey clouds. Her continuing support of me, as well as all others associated with the JWWC to make it the very best it can be, and never settling for anything but the best for JW and the JWWC, is something we should all be thankful for. She is the force that keeps it all going.

Thanks Kat .... for just being you, but for also being my friend :).

I also want to take a moment to thank anyone who has written us (and all those who will in the future) with encouragement and support as well as sharing their knowledge, ideas and resources with us here at the JWWC. It is truly overwhelming the amount of people that have come to the website and all the nice things that they said in e mail as well as in postal mailings. You are all a big part of this, and it with great honor that we dedicate this website to John Waite and all his fans around the world.

See you in the Temple Bar ...
