Fan Experiences - Richard
I first heard John Waite when he was a member of The Babys in
1977. " Give Me Your Love " was playing on the radio, and I was hooked.
I bought every Babys' album and eight track (!) from that point . I had
a chance to see the group two times: April 1, 1979 and July 26,1980. I
collected any article, concert, radio show, memorabilia or promotional
item. I have a huge collection of John Waite- related materials.
I saw John twice as a solo artist: September 1984 and November
1985. I never saw Bad English in person. I have never stopped following
his career. I have had the chance to meet Tony Brock, Wally Stocker and
Jonathan Cain. I correspond with them occasionally and Ricky Phillips as
well. They're all very nice to me. I've been able to get all five
Babys to sign their trading cards for me. My display looks great. There
is a picture of Tony and me on Jim Gilbert's web site.
I've made some great friends through my John Waite connections: Tracy
Watland and Elizabeth Konopka. It's a gas to trade with fellow fans
because I'm always looking to add anything to my twenty-two year
collection. I look foward to meeting the man one day.
