How I Spent My Labor Day
Weekend of 1998
by Kristine Weaver
In deciding to review ALL of John Waite's albums, I came up with an idea.
It may not be most of the readers' ideas of a
"professional" review, but none the less, I feel this is a great way to
see others ideas on John Waite and his music.
Being a mother of 2 teenagers (A YOUNG mother might I add)
I asked my 15 year old daughter and my 14 year old son for help.
My daughter then recruited one of her friends to join us, another 16 year old
mind. To make this more "even" (Or so I thought at the time...)
I asked my best friend and my boyfriend to help and this is the result!
ANDI: Is my 15 year old daughter. She is a sophomore in High school, and
a fan of ANYTHING "punk".
JONNA: (pronounced John-a) Is Andi's best friend and is 16 years old.
She too is a sophomore and a BIG Beatles and Grateful Dead fan.
WILLIAM: Is my 14 year old son, a Freshman, who loves the Blues.
KRISTINE: That's me, a fan of John Waite since I was about 13 years
old -- I am now 32.
HEATHER: My best friend, who is 27 years old and a fan of any band with
BIG hair!
JON: My boyfriend, who should have been around in the 60's, he was just
born too late -- he's 24.
MOM: My mom just happened to drop by and we dragged her into all this!
She'll be 70 soon and since she doesn't have a computer at home I won't
get killed for telling you all how old she is!
With a promise of Taco Bell and several 6 packs of Dr. Pepper and Diet
Pepsi, along with Cheetos and Ben and Jerry's ice cream, we started our
trip!
First off this is not a song by song review, everyone had their own
favorites off each album, I took these "highlights" and we rated the
album as a WHOLE. I think that there may be a few surprises in store ahead, so just sit
back and relax!
