"You drive 13 hours and what do you get? Hit a poor Bunny and you get to meet
Brent!"
It was hard to get this all down, since SO much was going on and I have only
so much time to share the experience. And WHAT an experience it was!
I know that you hear stories about Las Vegas, but until you actually SEE it,
you won't understand, and here I was right in the middle of the bright lights
and casinos, going to SEE John Waite!!!
My stomach was on it's own Roller coaster ride, after getting registered at
The Sunset Station, I was looking forward to some time to "VEGG" in my room
walking down the halls of Psychedelic carpet, floating in and out of
conciseness from the drive, I see these 2 blondes coming at me, Do I run?
Hide? Wait! They're calling my name! " Kristine! Kristine!" They look a little wild...
It's Denise and her friend Michelle! The BIG FUN is ready to begin!
A quick trip to the room and a call to EB and we are on our way to lunch!
I'm not sure if the waitress knew WHAT she was in for with the 6 of us!
I won't say that we caused a scene.. but EB DID cross that line!
But alas, it was time for work!
We started by tying the lanyard for all the passes to the meet and greet, but
it quickly erupted into a giggle fest! I don't know how many of you know just exactly how goofy
EB is but, they don't call him Mr. BIG FUN for nothing!
We then decided that a trip to town would be a good idea.
A Roller Coaster, a Pyramid, Getting lost at MGM, ( by the way, Kat ALWAYS
wins at the slots, ever want to gamble? She's the PERFECT good luck charm! )
And the HIGHLIGHT of my night, REAL HOOKERS, I was exhausted!
EB decided that we could sleep in the next day and was kind enough to call
at 8:30a.m., WHAT a GUY!
After a quick shower, re counting passes, getting T-shirts downstairs,
Visiting the entertainment staff with Kat, we were ready to eat again!
( They had since closed down the cafe we ate lunch at, something about not
crossing that line! ) So we headed for FOOD HEAVEN! I don't think that I
have ever seen SO much food in MY life!
And since we wouldn't have time to eat before the show, we stayed and ate and
ate and ate, for several hours ..."Cookie little boy?" We rolled ourselves back up the
stairs and after another quick shower it was
time, time to see JOHN WAITE!!
Kat took me by the hand, and sat me down in my seat, the stage was just INCHES
away, NOT FEET, INCHES! Remember to breathe ...
With that patented John Waite charm and style and a quick smile, the show
started. Dressed in a black suit, and with a KICK ASS Band I remember hearing, the
words "As I reach for that Glittering Prize.." WOW was this a dream?
Now I remember, I'm in Las Vegas with the friends I care about the most in the
world, and I'm watching John Waite,Shane Fontayne, Ricky Byrd, Donnie Nossov, Jeff
Babko, and Jonathan Dresel!! COOL!
I'm back to earth now!
He followed that with, When You Were Mine, Saturday Night, Price of Love, And
then Yes! The most beautiful version of Suicide Life!
I think that John needs to put out a Live album, don't you agree?
Shane played like the devil himself, it was AWESOME!
Then we took a trip to the Bluebird Cafe and started Missing You!
The audience was on it's feet! When I see you smile, Downtown, I-95, Midnight Rendezvous,
and I fell HEAD FIRST!
Breathe Kristine!
After "relaxing" at the T-shirt sales and a few drinks with Denise (Copper
Camel?) The next show was about to start! Whew! Could I do this again?!
Wait! Who's this? CC Rider??? "Shagadellic!"
Then you couldn't help but See me Smile!
Act of Love was next, followed by When you Were Mine, A fantastic Imaginary
Girl, Price of Love, Saturday Night, Change (You always wished for fame...)
Valentine, Downtown, Oh yes, I am Missing You, Midnight Rendezvous, Head
First, Then WHAM! It was like cold water hitting me in the face!
Wait, THAT WAS COLD WATER HITTING ME IN THE FACE!
Ricky was laughing, Donnie pointed the finger.. John? He did this? Well, with
a childlike smile John laughed "Sorry" hee hee, there is Nothing better than
this! Wait? NO!!! The show can't be over!!! Come back!! Come back!!!
Just one more trip Down I-95!
Kat! Make him play! EB! Don't let him stop! Jon! Do something!
Oh, wait a meet and greet, yea, I can do that! Once again I was off!
Yes sir, No sir HELP!!! I was wet, but happy.
I need to say that most of the fans were WONDERFUL and it was a pleasure to be
able to meet you, Colleen, Judy, and Chris Thank you! John was a TOTAL Gentleman!
This was truly one of the best show that I have ever seen, I HIGHLY recommend
seeing John play in a town near you!
